Obituary

THOMAS HERMAN ARTENO

Devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Thomas Herman Arteno, 90, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2021.  Born June 16, 1931 in Ravenna, Ohio, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Fleishman) Arteno.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Ronald Arteno; brothers, Walter and Bernard Arteno; and sister, Shirley Elliott.

A United States Navy veteran, he served in the Korean Conflict and was an animal lover. Most of all, Thomas loved his family and instilled in his sons and grandchildren, strong values.  His devotion to his wife was one of true love and support spanning 70 ½ years.

Thomas’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who survive; his wife, Norma Arteno; sons, Gary (Carol) Arteno of Uniontown, Steven (Trisha) Arteno of Mogadore; four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and brother, Gordon (Ramona) Arteno of Tennessee.

Family and friends will gather together on October 10, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown, to remember Thomas, who will be greatly missed. Please bring your fondest memories of Thomas to share.  Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
