RICHARD M. WISE

Richard M. Wise was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother during his incredible and full 97 years of life. He passed away peacefully, at his home, January 15, 2022.

Born in Greentown, Ohio on September 27, 1924, he was one of four children born to the late Carl and Elsie (Miller) Wise. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Myers and brother, Louis Wise.

Grateful for the wonderful years together are those who survive; his truelove and wife of 53 years, Vera Wise of Greentown; daughters, Karen (Tom) Harris of Statesville, North Carolina, Susan (Joe) Nagy of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Jan (Bill) Hitchko of Trinity, Florida; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Frances Valliere of Canton.

Having a strong and lifelong faithful foundation, Richard was a member of the Greentown United Methodist Church. He enjoyed music and played the trombone in The Cuyahoga Falls Community Band. He and Vera traveled the world and enjoyed the opera. As a pastime, he enjoyed watching football and was a fan of Ohio State and the Browns.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, with the service immediately following. Chaplin Darrell Maze will officiate. Interment will take place at Greentown Cemetery, Greentown.

The family is extremely grateful to Aultman Hospice and Richard’s caregivers, Tanya, Debbie, Tracy, and Erika for their care and support during this journey.
