RICHARD V. SPIDLE
Richard V. Spidle was called home to Heaven on January 7, 2022, at the age of 85. He was born in Akron, Ohio on January 2, 1937, to parents, Virgil and Nora (Hoare) Spidle who preceded him in death, together with his sister, Betty Jane Gostlin.
He leaves behind beautiful memories to his wife, Judy Spidle of 60 years; sons, Brian (Brigette) Spidle, Ken (Debra) Spidle, and Mark (Janet) Spidle; six grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; brother, Roy (Shirley) Spidle; sister, Eileen Proudfoot; many nieces and nephews; and cherished church family and friends.
A graduate of Springfield High School, he worked and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 40 years of service. As a young man, Richard made a life changing profession of faith, accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior. From that day, with his entire heart, soul, and strength, Richard desired God’s will more than anything else. Over many years attending Ellet Grace Brethren Church, his ministry involvement included the Christian Service Brigade, service as a deacon and trustee; and his willingness to always help those who were in need. Richard’s life testifies of a God who loves, forgive, and saves to all who call out to Him. His Savior said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Visitation will take place for family and friends at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown on Friday, January 14, 2021, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Services and interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron, at 2:30 pm. Pastor Jonathan Carey will officiate.
Hecker-Patron Funeral Home has been entrusted with Richard’s care and privileged with assisting the Spidle family. During this tender time, prayers, fond memories, and expressions of sympathy may be shared at: heckerpatronfuneralhome.com.
