JOAN M. GILL

Joan M. Gill, died peacefully at Altercare of Hartville on January 16, 2021.  Born October 6, 1938 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ella (Thompson) Thornton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Gill and daughter, Victoria Bellany.

Treasuring priceless memories of Joan, are those who survive; daughters, Dawn (Dan) Parker-Bollinger of South Carolina, Connie (Bob) Harris and Sherri Ulibarri all of Phoenix, Heather (Joel) Poling of Hartville; sisters, Janet (Bill) Bilyev, Linda Cobble of Florida; and brother, Paul Thornton of Wooster.

Joan, who went above and beyond not only as an owner and operator of her business, as she was the office manager and operator of a construction company, but as a mother, she taught her children the importance of always putting the needs of others before their own. She told us there were endless possibilities of making your dreams come true and to always give the best you have and the best will come to you.

Visitation for family and friends will take place Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the time of service, beginning at 1:00 PM, Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown, Ohio. In honoring Joan’s wishes, private interment will take place at the convenience of her family.
