Peacefully the morning of November 16, 2025, William D. “Bill” Allgood, Jr. passed away at the age of 88. He was born to William D. and Arlene R. (Snyder) Allgood in Barberton, Ohio on May 15, 1937.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, JoAnne Allgood; daughter, Deanna Allgood; sister, Corrine Allgood; sisters-in-law, Elaine Detwiler and Lois Gordon; brothers-in-law, Donald (Jack) Detwiler, Ronald (Ken) Detwiler, and William “Bill” Detwiler. He is survived by his two sons, Jeff Allgood of Uniontown and Doug (Stephanie) Allgood of Galloway.
Bill, as he was know to all, was a man of faith, relying on God’s guidance and wisdom, even in uncertain circumstances. He attended Barberton Church of the Nazarene for a short time and had been a member of the Akron Springfield Assembly of God for the past 40 years. He loved the old church hymns. He had an outgoing personality, enjoyed talking to family members, friends, and co-workers, and never met a stranger. He was meticulous about his lawn, enjoyed Hartville Kitchen and Grinders, and volunteered for the Uniontown Fire Department, where he served as chief, EMT, and firefighter. He loved his dogs, his true companions and wholeheartedly believed, “A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, Uniontown, where the service for Bill will follow. Pastor Matt Miller will officiate. The Last Alarm will conclude the service.
