Robert Berry, age 89, of Hartville passed away, at home, on June 7, 2025, while under the care of Aultman Hospice.
He was born December 1, 1935, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where he proudly played in the Little League World Series in 1947. He played football, basketball, and baseball for Montgomery High School prior to graduating in 1954. He attended Williamsport Technical Institute before moving to Ohio where he began working as an art coordinator at Goodyear Aerospace. Later, he advanced to section head of the Art Department. He retired from Goodyear and worked part time at Hartville Hardware.
Bob was a gifted artist creating many works of art using his preferred medium of oil paint. He was a skilled handyman who painted homes and businesses in the community. He bowled many years for the Sons of Herman and once had a 299 game. In later years, he joined the Aultman Generations bowling league. He was a member of New Baltimore Community Church. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and attending his grandson’s sporting events. Bob was the life of the party and always had a smile or a joke to share. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He loved animals, especially the family cat, Smokey.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Russell and Edrie Berry; siblings, Russ, Doris, Ruthie and Dick. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pam; daughter, Pamela Jean Berry; son, Douglas (Rhonda) Berry; daughter, Lisa Berry (Russell Blair); grandson, AJ Wood; many nieces and nephews; extended family, friends, and beloved pets.
Visitation will be held at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown on Thursday June 19, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Friday June 20, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the service following at 12:00 pm. Pastor Ken Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
