REBECCA J. SCHWENDNER

Rebecca J. Schwendner, 81, of Greentown, passed away the morning of November 28, 2023, at Summa Barberton Hospital’s Hospice Unit after a six-month journey following a diagnosis of cancer.

Born August 27, 1942, in Barberton, Ohio, she was one of three daughters born to the late John Rumph and Normajean (Rumph) Stipe. Rebecca was also preceded in death by her son, David, in 1967.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Rebecca lived and exemplified a gentle and quiet spirit, placing others’ needs ahead of her own. Her love of family and friends was endless. She enjoyed needlework, crochet, reading books and put her faith in the journey God placed in front of her.

Cherishing her memory always are those who survive; her husband of 63 years, Paul W. Schwendner; daughter, Ruth (Dwight) Force of Auburn Indiana; son, Ronald (Patricia) Schwendner of Leesville Louisiana; grandchildren, Carson, and Warren Force; sisters, Shirley Bean and Joan Graham; three nephews and four nieces.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown, where the service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery.
