Norma Jean Criner

Norma Jean Criner, lifelong Akron resident, passed away on May 13, 2025. She was born on August 30, 1934, to Cecil and Laura (Rider) Kiser. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Scott and Mark Schaffer; sisters, Betty Lou Watson and Catherine Worman; and brother, Don Kiser.

Norma was a woman of strong character and a live spirit. She was an artist and enjoyed spending time with family. She was not afraid of hard work and was employed as a factory worker for Coke.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind; daughter, Kathy Sandford; son, Bobby (Theresa) Criner; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who brough her immense joy; and sister, Nancy Miller.

Family and friends are invited for visitation, Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown. The service will begin at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Karl Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
