Melinda J. Burke

Melinda “Mast” Burke, age 57, of Hartville, Ohio, passed away on December 31st, 2025. Melinda would have absolutely hated a somber, serious funeral. I can picture her eyes rolling now at all this formality and asking why we couldn’t just have a party instead. Melinda was a very social butterfly. There wasn’t a day she wasn’t talking someone’s ear off, making someone laugh or making a smart, sarcastic remark all in good fun.

She was the daughter of late John Henry Mast & Iva “Wittmer” Mast. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ronald Burke; and her daughter, Michaela Burke. She was a loving & caring sister, wife, mother, aunt, great aunt. She is survived by her 6 siblings, Elsie (Dallas Martin) of Kent, Ohio, Rachel Mast, of Hartville, Ohio, Mary Anne (Bobby) Sands, of Canton, Ohio, Carolyn Mast, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Robert (Amanda) Mast, of Mize, Mississippi, and Jason Mast, of Hartville, Ohio; 13 nieces and nephews, Joseph (Olivia) Erdie, Christian Erdie, Caleb & Alex Diaz, Chyenne & Dyllan Sands, Brandin Williams, Conner, Kelsey, Aubrey, Rylan, Heidi, Kendrick Mast; 3 great-nieces, Chloe, Serenity, and Adalyn; many aunts and uncles; and a host of cousins and friends, whom she loved dearly.

A Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
