Mary was an avid angler with John and enjoyed cooking, reading, classic films from the 1940’s and 50’s, and road trips to Amish country.

Mary Louise Mishler nee’ Barlow, 73, passed away on September 20, 2026. Mary was the daughter of Evelyn and James (Raymond) Barlow, and the sister of Daniel Barlow (wife, Rose) and Thomas Barlow (wife, Su Farnlacher).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John C. Misher on January 8, 2021; father by a previous marriage of Lucinda (Adam), Adriana Mishler, and John Paul Mishler (Wilda). She is survived, as well, by stepbrother, Perry Marker (wife, Marta Ruddell), and stepsister, Diane Kidder. She is the stepmother of seven grandchildren, and an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was an avid angler with John and enjoyed cooking, reading, classic films from the 1940’s and 50’s, and road trips to Amish country, with her lifelong best friend, Debi Murphy. Despite declining health, she could still be seen motoring around Uniontown in her traditional flannel shirts and her often-worn Pink Floyd ballcap, accompanied by the second love of her life, her faithful dog, Lucy. She cherished her chats with Debi, Lucinda, and sister-in-law, Joan.

Mary worked as a nurse aide for ten years at Massillon Community Hospital before following in her mother’s footsteps by earning her degree in Nursing from Walsh College, and working for 34 years at Barberton Citizens Hospital, retiring in 2018. She absolutely loved nursing and was an inspiration to those around her.

Mary chose cremation and will be interred with her husband’s ashes in Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery. A Graveside Service for family and close friends will take place at 11:30 on October 17th. Her wishes were that, rather than mourning her passing, we who outlived her, celebrate her life. To that end, a celebration of her life will be held at the Harville Kitchen at 12:30 of the same day.

Everyone wishing to share the memories of Mary’s life journey are invited. In place of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Stark County.
