LUCY A. NELSON

Softly in the morning of July 25, 2023, Lucy heard a gentle call and quietly left us all, after gracing this world for 96 years. She was born on March 27, 1927, in Canton, Ohio to the late Victory and Mary (Karnak) Bossick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John P. Nelson, II; son, John P. Nelson, III; and her brother, Jim Bossick. Lucy will be greatly missed by those who survive; her daughter, Katherine Nelson Lowther; daughter-in-law, Vickie Nelson; grandchildren, Jamie, Meghann, and Joshua Lowther, Chad, Jonathan, and Eric Nelson; and great-grandchildren,  Tayla Adkins, Halley Carlton, Skyler and Maddison Lowther.

A 1945 graduate of Lincoln High School, she worked for Canton National Bank. She was devoted to her family, football and enjoyed canning, camping, and gardening. She was a remarkable cook and found pleasure in making delicious dishes for family and friends.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation, Monday, July 31, 2023, from 10:30 AM until 12:00 Noon at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, Uniontown, where the service for Lucy will immediately follow visitation at 12:00 Noon. Father Edward Beneleit will preside. Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care Center, 2821 Woodlawn Avenue, NW, Canton, Ohio 44708.
