Juanita Shover

Juanita Hazel Stetler Shover   1919-2019

Juanita Hazel (Stetler) Shover passed away on June 26, 2019 at the age of 99 in Uniontown, Ohio.  She was born Oct 11, 1919 in Akron Ohio to Warren A and Iris P (Modroo) Stetler.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair Eugene “Bud” Shover and her brother, Dale.

Juanita graduated in 1937 from West High School in Akron.  She was a homemaker and avid gardener.  She sold Amway products and advertising.

Juanita was a talented artist and loved to paint landscapes and nature.  She took art classes with her good friend, Ruby Pressler, at Kent State, Stark Campus.  She also was a lover of the performing arts in all its forms.  She delighted in taking her granddaughter and friends to the ballet and theatre performances.

Juanita loved to spend childhood days at her grandparents’ farm in Uniontown and returned to the town to raise her family.  She was a resident for 67 years.  She is survived by her sons, Rex of Uniontown, Richard of Randolph Twp, James of Orange Co, CA and Paul of Dallas, TX.  She also leaves grandchildren, Fawn Rinehart, Cindy Berend, Shawn Shover, Marianne Gentry; great grandchildren, Kelsey Rinehart, Jakob Berend. Shannon Gentry, Brendon Gentry; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial will be held on Tuesday, July 2 at 7:00 pm at  Uniontown Cemetery.

The family entrusted Juanita’s care with Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, Uniontown.
