JANET STEPHEN

Janet “Jan” Bibey Stephens, passed away on August 8, 2018, at her home, after a lengthy illness.  She was born July 21, 1941 in Belington, West Virginia to the late Zona (Ware) and Fred Bibey.  Jan graduated from Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio in 1959 and married Jim Stephens in August of that year.  They were married for 59 years.

In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Booth and step-brother, Lowell Shaffer.

Jan is survived by her husband, Jim Stephen; sons, Justin (Sue) Stephens and James (Jolynda) Stephens; daughters, Jodi (Duane) Parker and Jessica (Roger) Wenhart; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; step-mother, Betty Bibey; brothers, Phil Bibey and Brad (Penny) Bibey; and sister, Lisa (Jeff) Mohler.

Jan enjoyed spending time with family, especially camping and all the family get-togethers.  She loved riding motorcycles with Jim and her little dog, Cooper.  A long-time member of Hillwood Chapel, she retired from Perkin Elmer (Isolab) and later worked at Sterling Jewelers.

Family and friends are welcome to visit, Monday from 4-8 p.m., Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown, Ohio.  The service for Jan will be conducted, Tuesday at 1 p.m., Hillwood Chapel, 4824 Arlington Road, Uniontown, Ohio  44685.  Curtis Jones officiating.  Interment will take place at a later date.
