Hazel Theiss

HAZEL L. THEISS

Hazel L. Theiss, 95, of Uniontown, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 24, 2018.  She was born in Coffeeville, Mississippi, June 15, 1923, daughter of the late James Pace and Viola Holmes Pace.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Melvin Theiss and brother, Lou Pace.

Hazel will be sadly missed by those she leaves behind; son, Gary Theiss of Uniontown, Ohio; grandchildren, Amber (Matthew) Sedlacko of Hartville, Ohio and Teresa “Teri” Theiss of Tallmadge, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Megan, Carl, Austin, Jada, and Allison; and great-great-granddaughter, Gwyneth.

Hazel had been a member of Community Baptist Temple of Akron for the past 20 years.  She enjoyed singing in church, cooking, and baking.  She was a woman whose gentleness, kindness, and tenderness led her always, to care for others.

As the bond between a mother and son is a special one, a heartfelt and special thank you to her son, Gary, for all his love, support, and care.

Family and friends are invited for visitation, Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service, beginning at 1 p.m., Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Uniontown, Ohio.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.
