George W. King Jr.
George W. King Jr., "THRLGK" 92, passed away on November 24, 2016. Born in Akron on July 20, 1924 to George Sr. and Amy Jenkins King, he was a 1942 graduate of Greensburg H.S.. George, a WWII Army veteran, retired with 35 years of service and the rank of Sargent Major. He received his teaching degree from Ohio State University and taught at Bolich Jr. High in Cuyahoga Falls, retiring with 29 years of service. He was a member of Grandview United Methodist Church. George was a member of the Masons for over 50 years. He was a Royal Arch Mason, 3 time Past Master for Portage Lakes Wayfarer 789. He was also a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Commandary 83, the Scottish Rite and the Eastern Star Anna Dean 595 and the Cuyahoga Falls Council. Preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Gladys, son Gary and daughters-in-law Cathy and Cindy; he is survived by his loving family; sons Timothy, Thomas (Paula) and Richard; daughter Mimi (Glen) Locker; grandchildren, Venessa (Brad) Wiersma, Jennifer (Kyle) Burns, Jeff (Joyce) King, Rena (Billy) Brown and Jimmy (Cathy) Tenney; great grandchildren, Clay, Cody, Isabella, Brady, Konnor, Cooper, Lorelai, Leah, Luke, Logan, Carmen, and Sophia; great great grandchildren, Giauna and Jordyn; sister Olma (Jim) Stiffler and their son Barry; and many other cherished relatives and friends. Our family would like to extend a heart felt Thank You to his special friend Ross, all of his caregivers and other close friends that have done so much to make his life all that it was. Visitation at the Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. with Masonic services at 4 p.m. being conducted by Wayfarer 789. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m.. Burial at East Liberty Cemetery. Hecker 330-699-2600.
