Elsa S. Wittmer, age 85, born December 10, 1940, peacefully took her final breath and entered the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 9:25 AM.

Elsa worked for 44 years at Hartville Hardware and retired in August of 2021. She loved talking about health and wellness with everyone, sharing all her knowledge of vitamins, supplements, and nutrition. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her grandchildren; Hunter, Brooke, Denver, and Ciera, who were her pride and joy. Her hobbies included antiquing, Sudoku puzzles, reading her bible, and studying natural health remedies and Iridology. She could often be found watching the Andy Griffith Show or Little House on the Prairie and listening to her favorite preachers on WCRF.

Elsa was married to her husband, Joseph Allen Witttmer for 51 years. Joseph preceded her in death in 2013, as well as their infant son, Andre Allen Wittmer in July of 1972.

Additionally preceding Elsa in death are her parents, Roman C. and Mildred M. (Slabaugh) Miller; sister, Mildred Jane Miller and brother-in-law, Francis Miller Jr.; brother, Elton (Sonny) Miller and sister-law, Sandy Miller; brother, Roman Carl (Junior) Miller, Jr. and sister-in-law, Alverna Miller; brother, Atlee Miller and sister-in-law, Mildred Miller; sister, Betty Ann Miller; sister, Edna Mae Schlabach and brother-in-law, Aden Schlabach; sister, Niva Jean Miller and brother-in-law, Manford Miller; and sister, Ruby Kay Miller.

Elsa is survived by daughter, Shana Wittmer Mraz; son, Zachary Shawn Wittmer and daughter-in-law, Trishea Wittmer; grandchildren, Hunter (Brandi) Wittmer, Brooke (Isaiah) Hershberger, Denver Wittmer, and Ciera Mraz; great-grandchildren, Noah Allen and Ruthie Mae Wittmer; twin great-granddaughters expected in May to Brooke (Isaiah) Hershberger; and great-grandson expected in September to Hunter (Brandi) Wittmer. Elsa is also survived by brother, Gary Miller and sister-on-law, Linda Miller; and sister-in-law, Annette (Junior) Miller; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the staff at St. Lukes Nursing Home in North Canton who cared for her the past four years.

Calling hours will be Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Chapel in Green from 1:30 to 3:30 PM, with the service following at 4:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 15, 2026, at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville.
