Catherine Jane Reasoner

December 8, 1931 - November 3, 2025

Catherine Jane Reasoner lived a long and beautiful life rooted in creativity, compassion, and the joy of family. Born on December 8, 1931, she grew up on her family farm in Marlboro Township surrounded by her loving parents, Morgan and Jennie Fausnight, and was the youngest of siblings Edna, Mabel, Lester, Lottie, Homer, Clara, and Ervin.

Throughout her life, Catherine worked in many roles, including time in the offices at Goodyear. On August 31, 1952, she married Marine Corps veteran Robert C. Reasoner (1931-2013), and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the smell of good food. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and their infant daughter, Connie Jean.

Catherine was the devoted mother of Thomas (Sally) Reasoner, Kathy (Randy, 1950-2021) Mills, Randy

(Debra) Reasoner, and Kristal (Chris) Stewart. She was the proud grandmother of Brian (Lisa)

Reasoner, Mary (Ted) Price, Julie (Brian) Zimmerman, Brett Mills, Rachel (Jason) Regec, Thomas (Amanda) O'Neal, Daniel Stewart, and Katelyn Nova Stewart, and 16 great grandchildren. She was also the beloved aunt of 51 nieces and nephews, who were all her "favorites."

A woman of many talents, she sewed, crocheted, quilted, woodworked, created and crafted with care. She baked professionally from her home kitchen with joy, decorating wedding cakes, birthday cakes, and the occasional "bikini cake" she would keep hidden on top of the refrigerator so the kids wouldn't see. Her home was always alive with the sound of her sewing machine, the smell of pies fresh from the oven, and the sight of her next project in motion. She shared her artistry generously through craft shows and handmade gifts that became treasured keepsakes. Every quilt, every batch of Christmas cookies, every carefully iced flower carried her joy and her deep desire to make others smile.

For more than 25 years, Catherine volunteered at Aultman Hospital, bringing warmth and comfort as she pushed the hospitality cart from room to room. She offered kindness to every patient and staff member she met, believing that even a small act of care could brighten someone's day. She was active in the Junior Women's Club, taught Story Hour at the local library, and supported the local elementary school with her baked goods and hand-sewn seat covers - always finding ways to give back to her community. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was a longtime member of Mount Pleasant Church of the Brethren & Grace Brethren Church, where her laughter and love for people were constants.

Catherine's presence filled every space she entered. Her humor softened life's hardest moments; her laughter was contagious; her love was unconditional. Even as time slowed her hands, her spirit remained bright - always finding beauty, always ready to laugh, always eager to make others feel cared for.
