Brenda F. Ward, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026 surrounded by family. She was born on February 5, 1941, in Greenville, Kentucky. Brenda worked for many years as a dedicated factory worker and was also a devoted homemaker. She loved her family deeply and found joy in simple pleasures.
Brenda will be remembered for her warm, down-to-earth spirit and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. She had a gentle way of making others feel welcome and brought comfort to those around her. Brenda enjoyed laughter, good company, and the everyday moments that made life meaningful. Her family was her greatest pride, and she poured her love into them in countless ways.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel H. Dukes and Flora M. Morris (Harold); her beloved husband, Herbert E. Ward; and brothers, Timothy and Harold Dukes. She is survived by her son, Steven Ward; daughters, Lisa Ward and Lana (Brian) McKeown; grandchildren, Adam (Amber), Nikki (Joe), Tiffany, Dustin, Tyler, and Madisyn; great-grandchildren, Abby and Asher; brother, Richard (Brandi) Dukes; and many others, all of whom brought tremendous joy to her life. Her memory will continue to be a light for her family, a reminder of the love, kindness, and resilience she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed. Family and friends may gather for visitation on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, Uniontown. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Bruce Rosa will officiate. Interment will take place following the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Akron.
